How many times have you been to Dollarama in the past 6 months without forking over at least $20? Especially when you just went for 2 things?! I was skeptical – actually, downright annoyed – when Dollarama introduced $2 & $3 items a few years ago. Just another one of those dollar stores that now sold items for $3 that you used to buy for $1.

But. That didn’t happen. Whereas they used to carry some pretty neat things for $1, they now carry (what I’m guessing is liquidated stock & discontinued items) awesome products for $3 that sell for upwards of $6 at other stores like WalMart & Toys R Us! It’s a the perfect store to shop at for that box of last-minute kid birthday gifts that you keep under your bed or at the top of your closet. If you stop in on a regular basis, you’ll find all sorts of goodies that would cost you $10 elsewhere. Combine 2-3 of these gifts & you’ll have a good quality gift for under $10. At this particular point in our life, I just can’t afford to spend upwards of $25 on birthday presents for every party we go to – so heading to Dollarama on a regular basis helps us keep the budget on track without sacrificing quality. It’s also great for gift exchanges at Christmas with a $5 or under limit – you can get some pretty awesome stuff for that price now!
Here are some of the great deals that we saw (and yes, we bought some for The Box) this week at Dollarama.
Dollarama also carries some great products that are produced specifically for them, so you’re not necessarily getting a huge ‘savings’, they’re worth every penny (and then some). These are some of my fave products there:

Now, here’s the deal. Not everything that you will find at Dollarama is good quality or worth the few dollars that you’ll spend on it – but if you follow our rule of Clearance Shopping at Target (Shop Often and Know Where to Look!) – you’ll get to be pretty talented at spotting the gems in the store. Tell me: What are your best finds there?
I forgot to tell you about the Gyro-bowl I picked up for $3 when they changed their packaging, and the EXACT SAME PRODUCT was for sale at Shopper’s for $16 but in a different box!!

By the way. This is not a sponsored post. We have not been compensated in any form for sharing this with you. We just really like Dollarama.

I live in Hamilton, Ontario, and love my city. I'm a Netflixer, choral music geek, bookworm, inventor of recipes (I take Artistic Licence on EVERYTHING that I make), wife of one, mother of two, and owner of a neurotic Schnauzer. I respect people who respect others. I love good food that's well done, but my favourite lunch is KD & hotdogs. With ketchup. I'm addicted to Clearance Shopping. I will ALWAYS get the product that I want at the price that I want, eventually.

SO many good deals over the years. Last summer I picked up 4 2-pc rainsuits (rain coat, rain pants) in a small adult size – thought they’d be great to take along for camping and still had their price tags of 19.99 on them. I also LOVE my Betty Crocker spatulas. I’ve gotten 4 hardcover hockey books put out by The Hockey News for $3 each. Their superhero figures (Spiderman, Superman, Wolverine, IronMan) sell for $8-9 at WalMart, and you get them for $3. We’ve also bought SpiderMan MegaBlocks kits for birthday treat bags for $3. I could go on and on…
i have not been to this store but they seem to carry lot of good bargains.
Looks like there are lots of choices…
I’ve never heard of this place before. I wish that were one near me!
I think it’s Canadian. There are so many dollar stores out there these days, but this is a good one!
Hey girls!
I also LOVE Dollarama. I love it for gift bags, seasonal items (window clings are especially popular in our house), children’s books and colouring books, Sudoku books (my dad’s favourite), candy, plastic storage containers (nice when going to a party and don’t want to chase after someone for your container, etc…We had also picked up a set of play Disney car keys with the remote that was $3 but worth over $10 at Toys R Us. I will be sure to try the spatulas!
Oh! And my worst item I bought was a can opener. It didn’t even work the first time I bought it. 🙁
Oooh, yeah, we had one of those in our first year we were married. Might as well’ve just tossed the $ in the garbage without a trip to the store!
Oh, yes, that’s one that I forgot to mention – I got a FANTASTIC crossword book there one time! And yes, their plastic containers are great for bringing food to potlucks!
I haven’t heard of it…interesting! 🙂
Lots of choices. Thank you for sharing!
wow! i need some mason jars!
I know! I have to go out and buy some now!
The “Snaptite” brand of standard mason jar lids made in China, sold at Dollaramafor$2 /box looked like a bargain ,until I had to reprocess all my tomatoes, they just wouldn’t seal ! The sealing ring around the lid didn’t even have an impression, when the lid came off. So a huge time waster, last season, they were selling Bernardin lids for $2, so it WAS a bargain. That being said, I have found many good bargains there, really nice things, especially the Betty Crocker spatulas. best ever!
Hey! Got a cell phone or tablet? Digital camera? USB POCKET charger, 4$ i bought 2 more when I tested it and it worked perfect.it puts out 1 amp and takes about 3 hours to charge from empty.
