One of the many things that I love about fall is apples. Eating, baking, picking. There are so many apple orchards around us, so we watch the trees go into blossom in the spring, then develop the beautiful red apples.
Our boys have been eating “an apple a day” ever since they were small. I also love using this apple slicer/corer, because it takes all the work out of eating the apple. Once you’ve sliced it, it’s so easy and convenient to eat!
I also send them like this in lunches with an elastic band. That way it doesn’t go brown, and the boys think it’s a funny trick to open them and show their friends!
Here are some of my favourite apple recipes.
Super Apple Bake, great for having company over

Apple Crumble Pie by Life’s Simple Measures – such a huge crumb topping – so good!

Chunky Crockpot Applesauce – so easy!!
Finally, you can just thinly slice and dehydrate them. Such a delicious and healthy snack!
If you have any other great apple recipes, please share them! There’s nothing better than the smell of apples and cinnamon on a cold fall day!

I live in Hamilton, Ontario, and love my city. I'm a Netflixer, choral music geek, bookworm, inventor of recipes (I take Artistic Licence on EVERYTHING that I make), wife of one, mother of two, and owner of a neurotic Schnauzer. I respect people who respect others. I love good food that's well done, but my favourite lunch is KD & hotdogs. With ketchup. I'm addicted to Clearance Shopping. I will ALWAYS get the product that I want at the price that I want, eventually.

Hi Marya! Great ideas – they all look so yummy! I love the idea of pre-cutting the apples for lunches and holding them together with an elastic. Fantastic! 🙂
🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Erin!
One of my favorite childhood memories is my parents packing us kids into the station wagon and driving up to Oak Glen, California to pick apples. Then we’d watch them press apple cider, eat some apple pie and take a hike to see the trout farm. That smell of fresh apples always reminds me of Fall.
Your selection of recipes is very tasty looking. I definitely have to try that salted caramel apple crumble. Yum!
Wow – what great memories! Isn’t it amazing how smells can bring you right back there!! Thanks for sharing!
Hubby spied that salted caramel crumble on a friend’s Facebook wall last night and is dropping hints.
Ha!!! So is he making it or are you?!
