This past summer, we had the chance to take a Honda Pilot on vacation to a cottage in Michigan. It’s (almost) always exciting to try out a new vehicle, but the Pilot was an particularly exciting vehicle for us.

We’re not so much the folks that only take the ‘bare essentials’ with us when heading out on vacation, so that always means taking a trailer – and the Pilot pulled the trailer as if it was nothing. It was smooth, comfortable, and one of the most sturdy-feeling rides we’ve ever had. 

Our wonderful, adorable children have reached the age where it’s important that they not sit in close quarters, or they will kill each other. (By the way, when does that end? They’re 2 and 3 right now…) The Pilot had more than enough room to spare between them.

Our kids are good, but waiting quietly and patiently at the border only lasts for so. long. The TV in the roof was a god-send in those moments – and I LOVE the wireless headphones. I have a (perhaps irrational?) fear of my children strangling themselves with the wires from the headphones…

When we needed to take extra guests on board – no problem! There was another full row of seats to fold up in the back!

And then there’s the back-up camera. And the genius shelf over the glove compartment. And the built in kiddie mirror.

And then, the beach. Doesn’t the Pilot just look pretty out there?
