Smart Is The New Cool™ – Project Mc² Dolls #GiveAway

I don’t know about you, but when I was a tween (which, by the way, wasn’t a thing when I was growing up!), I had my utopian house blue prints down to a T.  Literally. Inspired by my best friend Donna, I bought a pad of graph paper and started figure out room layout, door & window placement, & contemplated the age old question of open concept vs traditional closed-plan livingroom/kitchens. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I was indeed THAT cool.

The key component of every single one of my blue prints, however, was my secret lair. My Nancy Drew hideout that would house all of my super awesome (not yet developed) technology and top secret documents (my CareBears diary & incriminating hand-written Best Friend correspondence).

Project MC2 on Neflix - Smart is the New Cool!

I hadn’t thought about these plans in years – that is, until I came across Project Mc² on Netflix a few weeks ago. I admit – this new tween Neftlix Original popped up on my ‘Recommended for You’ list because I’ve been watching things like Veronica Mars (sadly no longer available!), The Secret Life of the American Teenager, and Switched at Birth this past year. I’ve always been a sucker for a good young adult TV show (I watched Boy Meets World LONG after it was cool for someone my age to do so!), so I checked Project Mc² out.

Guys, it’s super cool. Four high school girls leading a secret spy life, working for NOV8 (that’s innovate, for those of us who don’t speak TXT) – a super-secret spy organization led by the world’s smartest female operatives. The team leader, McKeyla, has a SECRET LAIR in her bedroom, filled with piles of super awesome gadgets! It’s the stuff my childhood dreams were made of! These girls use S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) examples from every day life to solve their cases, proving that Smart Is The New Cool™. I guess I was cool as a kid, after all!

My one criticism is that these ‘every day girls’ are, of course, super gorgeous, they all have the same slender body build, and must spend a LOT of money on clothes. I’d like to see a little more realism in this area – we all know that beauty does not equal skinny – but other than that, I think it’s a pretty cool show.

Project MC2 Dolls Giveaway! $120 val

Win a set of Project MC2 Dolls

Project Mc² dolls are now available for purchase across Canada – and we’re giving away a whole SET of them on the blog ($120 val)! These dolls were created to represent the real girls – the dolls each stand a different heights and reflect different cultural backstories. The best part is that they each come with their own real science experiment or tech project for your kiddos to try out!

I don’t know about you, but I’d much rather have my kids playing with these dolls who reinforce the notion that it’s ok to be excited to learn how things work and how science can help rather than dolls whose sole goal in life is to marry the handsome stud!

The Project Mc² doll line is available at Canadian retailers including Toys”R”Us, Walmart, Indigo and Sears with prices ranging from $12.99 to $69.99. Product age range is targeted to 6 – 10 years old, while the Netflix series that launched in August targets kids 6-13 years old as well as families for co-viewing. For more information, visit www.ProjectMc2.com.

Open to Canadian Residents (excl Quebec) 18+ years of age. Winner will be notified via email and will have 48 hours to respond. Ends Tuesday, October 13 at 11:59pm.

I live in Hamilton, Ontario, and love my city. I'm a Netflixer, choral music geek, bookworm, inventor of recipes (I take Artistic Licence on EVERYTHING that I make), wife of one, mother of two, and owner of a neurotic Schnauzer. I respect people who respect others. I love good food that's well done, but my favourite lunch is KD & hotdogs. With ketchup. I'm addicted to Clearance Shopping. I will ALWAYS get the product that I want at the price that I want, eventually.
