WIN if You're Canadian! $50 worth of organic skincare products from Penny Lane Organics

Good Friday morning! We just had a SUPER fun DQ Canada giveaway with Anne from FoodRetro – and we’re at it again today: We’ve got another chance for YOU to WIN if you’re CANADIAN! How’s that for an easy entry! We’ve got some awesome gift baskets to give away from Penny Lane Organics – but first – a little review of a pretty awesome & versatile product from Penny Lane.

Over the past several weeks, I’ve had the chance to try out the Calendula Serum from Penny Lane Organics. It’s an anti-wrinkle / anti-ageing serum for sensitive skin that also helps with eczema, rosacea, and skin rashes. It has plant-based collagen added to it to help ‘plump up the skin,’ improve elasticity, and ‘give the skin a healthy radiant appearance.’

Here’s the deal, though: When I started using the product, I hadn’t the foggiest what a Calendula Serum would be for, nor had I really contemplated targeting my wrinkles already just north of 30.  I read about the benefits after I used the product for a couple weeks.
Penny Lane Organics Calendula SerumAs soon as I put a drop of the serum on my finger, I was impressed. I don’t do scented facial products – I’ve got a very good sense of smell and it drives me crazy when face cream smells like roses or cheap perfume. The Calendula Serum has a bit of a smell, but it’s the smell of the natural ingredients, not of an additive.  And I’m not super crunchy granola  – but even I can appreciate skin care products made from simple, natural ingredients.

You can use the serum on your whole face & neck twice a day, or use it on targeted wrinkle-prone areas and then apply your regular facial cream. I applied it to the area around and under my eyes, on my forehead, and then on some problem areas on my cheek bones – I don’t know if it’s rosacea or eczema or what, but I have weird skin on my cheeks. The serum was cool & calming, and never inflamed or irritated my sensitive skin, and I only had to use 1 drop to cover all of those areas. I did this morning and night.

Since beginning to use it in the past two weeks, I’ve noticed a slight reduction in the red patches on my cheeks, and my skin feels much more smooth & lovely. I can’t say that I’ve noticed a decrease in the small wrinkles around my eyes or on my forehead, but it really has only been a couple weeks.

My daughter has a small patch of eczema that just appeared on her cheek this week, and I’m definitely going to put the serum to the test there. She’ll love it – she absolutely adores being a part of my morning ‘getting ready to face people’ routine and begs for me to put deodorant, moisturizer, foundation, etc. on her already.

Heck – I’m still learning things about it as I’m writing this – I just read that it’s also good for diaper irritations – and my daughter has had a persistent one for the last three days that my other cremes haven’t healed – so, here we go – I’m off to change her diaper and try this out! I absolutely love multi-purpose products – don’t you? Doesn’t hurt when they’re natural, organic skin care!

Giveaway Rules: Winner must be 18+ and have a Canadian address that products can ship to. That’s pretty much it.

  9. I could certainly benefit from the skin serum. My complection is pretty uneven. My husband could benefit too, he’s got some dry patches on his face and really sensitive skin, so he doesn’t want to try anything.

  10. I’d love to try the Calendula Serum. I have both eczema and rosacea and I only like to use natural products on my face.
