I’ve got a confession for you, but before I tell you, I want you to promise me that you won’t leave this site as soon as you read it. Promise? Ok. Here we go.
I don’t drink coffee.
Still here?
I know, I know. I’m serious, though – I don’t drink it! I don’t even like it! In early days of university, I was told just wait until exams. By the time your first year at university is over, you’ll be hooked on it. You won’t be able to function in your 8am class without it. Guess what? Didn’t happen. Then, I was told, Just wait until you’ve got a newborn in the house – when you’re getting up for feeds 5 times a night, the ONLY way to make it through the day will be by gulping down 5 cups of coffee! Still nope. And then, I was told, Just wait until you’re getting up in the middle of the night with a sick child, and then you still have to chase after toddlers all day – coffee will be your lifeline! Yuck Yuck Yuck. Let me make this clear: I Don’t Like Coffee. And I don’t need it to get me through the day. You know why? Because Tea.
I have 13 different varieties of tea in my cupboard – herbal, green, red, black, white – you name it, it’s there! When I lived in England for 4 months, the only thing that was able to warm the constant chill in my bones was a good cup of tea. It was much the same in Japan: the winter weather got down to zero Celsius, and when no one (except stores) had central heating, you just drank green tea ALL DAY LONG to stay warm.
You can keep the coffee: Tea is a necessity in my life: there’s just no way around it! When I was offered the chance to participate in this Mother’s Day Tea giveaway, I jumped at the chance. Enter the giveaway below, but go check out Teabird Company, because they’re Canadian & awesome.

The Prize:
4x 50g bags of Loose Leaf Organic Tea (200g tea)
Each bag steeps about 20-25 cups so that is 80-100 cups of tea, all can be re-steeped making it up to a possible 320cups! Each bag is hand wrapped in pretty paper and shipped to your mum, providing she’s in Canada! Sorry my American friends, no tea for you (this time).

Lord Earl Grey in the Study with an Infuser – Earl Grey
Punch Berry- Herbal/Fruity
Magnolia Steel- Green/Strawberry/Papaya

Teabird Company has even planned out the perfect day for you (or your mother!) to enjoy each one of the four teas:
From Teabird Company: “Mom will feel like a Queen when she sips organic English Breakfast in the morning. A bit later she will find Lord Earl Grey in the Study with an Infuser. Come afternoon, she is ready to conquer the world with Magnolia Steel and a good novel. Night capping is with Punch Berry chilled and mixed with Vodka for a Mart-tea-ni.
“And the best part is, tea is the super hero drink we all can use.”

You Pinspire Me

My favourite part of Mothers’ Day is looking at all the things my kids have made for me.
Yay! That is a super fun part, which I am looking forward to experiencing EVENTUALLY: the kids haven’t made me anything yet, but once they head off to school, I’m sure that I’ll have no shortage! 🙂
I will join you in not drinking coffee and I even worked at Starbucks for awhile 🙂 I don’t drink tea everyday day, but do enjoy a nice cup of tea now and again!!
I didn’t think that there were any others over the age of 30 who were coffee-free! 🙂
My favourite part of Mother’s Day is how into my kids get, with a big thanks to my husband for building it up so much! They love helping pick gifts and plan breakfast for me. This year is my son’s first year at school, and I cannot wait to see what little craft he will bring home; I’m expecting that to become my new favourite part of the day.
So wonderful! I admit, my husband hasn’t gotten the kids into it yet – he figures, I’m not his mother, so why does he have to do anything? Fair enough… he treats me like a queen on a normal basis, anyways. 😉
I remember watching my hubby learn to drink coffee. What a hoot. Day 1: How can anybody drink this stuff? Day 2: Urgh. So bitter. Day 3: I think I’m getting used to it. Now: NEED COFFEEEE….
I’ll join you for tea. But maybe not at Starbucks, considering they put like an entire tea bush in your cup. 😉
I don’t really celebrate Mother’s Day. But boy I’m with on the Tea. Just can’t live without it. I can drink coffee once in a blue moon, but not in the a.m.
My favourite way to enjoy Mother’s Day is to visit my Mom! 🙂 Enjoying a nice cup of tea on the deck in the spring sunshine.
Spending time with my mom, of course! I treat the both of us to a day spa and then out for dinner at her favourite seafood restaurant.
Surronded by my husband and kids – then being able to enjoy a little bit myself for some quiet time.
I love to spend time with my family, outside.
I enjoy hosting a special lunch for my mom on Mother’s Day.
we don’t celebrate mother’s day, but if we did I would love if I could sleep in and not have to cook or do laundry.
Remembering my Mom and the blessing she was, celebrating my mother-in-law, and enjoying extra hugs from my kids.
