The Maple Leaf Monster Jam is quickly becoming my 4 year old son’s new favourite tradition. Two years in a row is enough to make a tradition, isn’t it?
As you know, our lives have been pretty topsy-turvy for the last month as we got the house read for listing. The kids were out of the house for two full weeks – and we’re all just getting a little weary of it all right now. On Friday afternoon, I printed out this colouring sheet for H-man, and his response was, “Woah, Mom, look! MONSTER TRUCKS! Do you remember when I got to go see Monster Trucks with Daddy a long time ago? Wouldn’t it be really cool if I could go again sometime?”
To which I replied, “You DO get to go again! You can go tomorrow with Dad!”
Cue the Crazy Happy Dancing and Over Emoting.
The four of them – my husband, H-man, one of my husband’s friends, and his 5 year old daughter, caught the opening day show yesterday, April 25, at FirstOntario Place in Hamilton. The show was Big. The show was Loud. The show was what ever Monster-Truck-Loving-Soul could dream of.
And plus, H-man got to pull out his hearing protection and wear them again. He was extremely excited to do that.
He had been hoping that the Spiderman truck would show up again, but alas, this year Spiderman was AWOL. “But mommy, you know who was SUPER COOL? The Truck that was called ‘Max D’ and had SPIKES all over him! I think he was even better than Spiderman!”
Like I said, I’m pretty sure that this is a tradition now.
Til next spring, Monster Jam!
