So with all the bad press plastic has been getting lately, I’ve been using my mason jars more and more. I got rid of my old plastic canister set and used two sizes of mason jars. I like the square-based jars, because they fit nicely in rows in the cupboards. The wide mouth is great for scooping out measurements. And my favourite part is that I have the wonderful canning funnel to use for re-filling my jars.
I also found these great plastic screw-on lids made for mason jars in the canning section of the store. I prefer these to the metal ones, which tend to get rusty.

I live in Hamilton, Ontario, and love my city. I'm a Netflixer, choral music geek, bookworm, inventor of recipes (I take Artistic Licence on EVERYTHING that I make), wife of one, mother of two, and owner of a neurotic Schnauzer. I respect people who respect others. I love good food that's well done, but my favourite lunch is KD & hotdogs. With ketchup. I'm addicted to Clearance Shopping. I will ALWAYS get the product that I want at the price that I want, eventually.

love the idea. I use them at my summer place to keep critters out of the sugar etc.
Where are these from?
I’d love to know where you purchased these. I’ve done many searches and can’t find them. Thanks!
Hi! The jars, I’ve just picked up here and there at yard sales and second hand stores. The lids are a hit & miss kind of thing. They are usually in the canning section of the grocery store, but I’m never guaranteed to find them. I bough a few at WalMart and a few at Canadian Tire, but I haven’t been able to find any this year.
