Homemade Gingerbread Spice Latte

I don’t claim to be a coffee expert by any means, but I do enjoy a latte or flavoured coffee (mmm…Starbucks).  But they are expensive!  I saw this pin for a homemade Gingerbread Latte.  It looked easy enough, and I had all the ingredients on hand.

The first thing you do is make a syrup using molasses, brown sugar, and some spices.  The syrup is quite thick, but it dissolves well in the hot coffee.  It lasts for a few weeks in the fridge.

I kind of cheated, and this is where the real coffee experts will have issues…I used instant coffee!  Gasp!  Despite that, it turned out really good.  I used an immersion blender to froth the milk and made a mess all over my stove… One last thing – I left out the 1 Tbsp of white sugar, and I’m glad I did.  It was sweet enough.

The verdict….delicious.  Head over here for the recipe.
