Giant News! Green Giant Veggie Chips GIVEAWAY!

Big news on the home front.  No, no, NO – we’re not pregnant again!  (Seriously – we all know that’s where everyone goes first!) But I am finishing up my maternity leave, and believe me, I am so thankful for every day of this year-long leave that I have the privilege to take here in Canada.  And, as I’ve been creeping towards the end of the leave, I’ve become progressively more and more heartsick at the thought of signing my two littles up for daycare and taking myself in to work every morning.  So, I did it – last week, I typed up my letter, pressed “Print” (to PDF), and handed (emailed) in my notice: I quit.

Worth quitting for, don’t you think?

I have to admit, I feel a little bit crazy for doing so.  I had a good job, at a great place, with so many wonderful people.  But my little lady is just weeks away from walking, and my little man is starting to ‘sound out’ words and letters (if you consider this ‘sounding out’: “Mmm, mmm, couch. What does couch start with, Mommy?”), and I just don’t want to miss things like this when I’m at work selling textbooks and paper and waiting on the phone to talk to publishing houses.  And besides, the incredibly awesome babysitter that our little man had when I was at work last time is expecting twins herself, and isn’t prepared to have 2 more kids in the house – understandably!

So.  I’m going to be babysitting a bit.  And I’m going to try to pay a lot more attention to this blog – which leads me to my second piece of big news: I signed up to attend BlissDomCA 2013!  If you’re a Canadian Blogger, you may know what that is – but you may not.  I learned about it from someone else’s blog. And if you’re not a blogger, chances are you’ve never heard of it.  It’s a gathering for folks in blogging & social media in Canada.  It’s about networking, creating, learning how to up your game, your business, your blog.  It’s just less than 2 months away, and I’ve gotta admit – I’m excited and nervous!  This is my first business conference that I’ll be attending solo – but from what I’ve learned about these ladies on Twitter and facebook, they’re pretty awesome and always interested in meeting new people to collaborate and share with!

Now that I’ve shared some big news with you that’s going to change my life in so many ways, let me share something else – I was given the opportunity to share some of Green Giant’s GIANT news with you: Green Giant has branched out into the world of crispy snacks with two NEW PRODUCTS: Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips (Zesty Cheddar) and Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips (Sea Salt).  I was lucky enough to receive 4 bags of each of them in the mail – and here’s some other GIANT NEWS: One of you will win 4 bags of each, too!  All you have to do is comment at the bottom of this post and let us know what Giant News you have coming up in your life – or, if your life is coasting along straight ahead right now, let us know with a comment what it is that you love about Green Giant.

These are super tasty chips.  The Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips just might be my new favourite.  And I may have eaten a whole bag in one sitting one day. Shhhh.

I live in Hamilton, Ontario, and love my city. I'm a Netflixer, choral music geek, bookworm, inventor of recipes (I take Artistic Licence on EVERYTHING that I make), wife of one, mother of two, and owner of a neurotic Schnauzer. I respect people who respect others. I love good food that's well done, but my favourite lunch is KD & hotdogs. With ketchup. I'm addicted to Clearance Shopping. I will ALWAYS get the product that I want at the price that I want, eventually.
