MR – I was given this recipe by a friend. It was supposedly the EASIEST bread recipe there is – no breadmaker needed. As I read through the blog post, I was inspired by her beautiful photos and the hundreds of comments, agreeing that this bread was amazing!
So…I tried it. 5 minutes to measure & mix the 4 ingredients. 12-18 hours to sit. Then bake it. It was amazing! I started with the plain recipe
…and moved on to my favourite: cranberry walnut! Look at the texture of that bread. Crusty on the outside, soft & moist on the inside! Since then, I’ve made loaves with herbs & spices with nuts, some cinnamon raisin bread, and more just plain. Our entire family LOVES it! I’m looking forward to trying a cheddar cheese version.
My only problem is that it takes a lot of electricity to bake them. You need to preheat the oven & pot to 450 for 30 minutes, then you bake it for another 45 minutes. So the way that I make it a slightly better use of energy is to bake 2 loaves at a time, and often 2 more right after.
