Crusty Bread (re-post)

As the temperatures are getting cooler, I am loving these warm fall recipes (especially the ones that require me to turn on the oven, since I’m not turning on the furnace yet…).  So along with supper tonight, we’re  having this crusty bread that I posted last year. It is so easy to make, takes only 3 ingredients – flour, salt and yeast, and tastes amazing!

You mix the ingredients by hand (but to make it even easier, I threw it into my KitchenAid mixer).  Let it sit 12-18 hours, then bake at a very high temperature, 450, creating the most amazing crust.  The bread itself looks like this fancy artisan bread, and you can do all kinds of variations.  I loved adding dried cranberries and walnuts.  I think tonight I’ll add some cheddar cheese and some herbs.

Head over here for the original recipe.

I live in Hamilton, Ontario, and love my city. I'm a Netflixer, choral music geek, bookworm, inventor of recipes (I take Artistic Licence on EVERYTHING that I make), wife of one, mother of two, and owner of a neurotic Schnauzer. I respect people who respect others. I love good food that's well done, but my favourite lunch is KD & hotdogs. With ketchup. I'm addicted to Clearance Shopping. I will ALWAYS get the product that I want at the price that I want, eventually.
