It should come as no surprise to you, our loyal readers, that my sister & I are not Martha Stewart clones. We’re not Stepford Wives. We’re not even *gasp* Rachael Ray! After all, we make no bones about this information:
We make some pretty awesome and tasty stuff from inspiration that we pull from Pinterest Pins, but sometimes (more often than I care to admit!) projects – especially baking products, for some reason! – just don’t go according to plan. Sometimes, recipes don’t spell out the directions for those of us who desperately need every single small step spelled out. Sometimes, I’m in a hurry and I miss one or two of the crucial ingredients (who knew that flour is an important ingredient in muffins?). Sometimes, you’re just trying to make Raspberry Thumb Print Cookies and they turn out a little more like disturbing boobies than you were planning….
Sometimes, even drizzling on some absolutely delicious almond icing doesn’t make these supposed Christmas Cookies any more appealing. Unless, of course, you were TRYING to make edible boobs. Then it makes these edible boobs look very festive.
In this particular case, I learned after the fact that I had skipped that all-too-important instruction to “chill until firm, at least four hours.” Whoops. Apparently there’s a valid reason behind that particular direction.
Anyhow, the cookies themselves are incredibly tasty, and I had to go ahead and eat all of those R-rated cookies so that my guests wouldn’t have to suffer through them – what a tragedy! Head over to Sally’s Baking Addiction for the recipe – and for the love of Christmas cookies, DON’T SKIMP ON THE FRIDGE TIME!

Love (pronounced: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE) this. I love that you failed and I love your honesty and I love your reference to “disturbing boobies”. I just love that you keep it real.
LOL. They look lovely. And love that you screw up 🙂
