This year will be my first year teaching art (and first year EVER in Grade 8). I thought it might be fun to share some of the projects we do in our art class. This one was an idea of a co-worker – she wants everyone in the school to do their hand and we can put them up in the gym on a wall.
I love it because it is so simple that my boys (aged 3-8) did it, but it can be complex enough for Grade 8. I had them do it first in pencil, write their name somewhere, and draw something that interests them. Then fill the rest in with bright, bold colours and interesting designs.
I had fun making my own – especially getting to use my package of brand-new sharpies!
Once they’re all done, we’ll laminate them and put them up in the gym, maybe on a tree or something. I’ll try to post a picture of the finished product.

I live in Hamilton, Ontario, and love my city. I'm a Netflixer, choral music geek, bookworm, inventor of recipes (I take Artistic Licence on EVERYTHING that I make), wife of one, mother of two, and owner of a neurotic Schnauzer. I respect people who respect others. I love good food that's well done, but my favourite lunch is KD & hotdogs. With ketchup. I'm addicted to Clearance Shopping. I will ALWAYS get the product that I want at the price that I want, eventually.
