I’ve always loved tortilla and cream cheese pinwheels. I’ve seen the Christmas tree layout a few times on Pinterest, so I thought I’d give it a try for our New Years’ celebration with the kids.
I just made a basic mixture of 1 package cream cheese, 1/4 c. cranberries, 2 Tbsp. walnuts and about 1/3 c. shredded cheese. I combined it and divided it among 4 green tortillas.
I spread it out evenly, rolled it and sealed it with saran wrap. After I refrigerated it for a few hours, I cut it into little circles, about 1/2 inch thick.
Next came the fun part – I started stacking them on a plate, with fewer and fewer on each level. I got to build my own Christmas tree! I didn’t have any food that I could cut into a star shape, so I found this great star ornament from our tree, and stuck it on top!
Much more fun than just a plate of these pinwheels!
You could also do different fillings – spinach, salsa, bacon – so many ideas! And it’s a great appetizer to bring along for a potluck.

I live in Bowmanville, and am a mom to four young boys - it can get a little loud in my house. I am a Christian, a part-time French teacher, a piano teacher and former homeschooler. I love finding the best deals, which will come in handy when our boys become hungry teenagers! We just moved to a house with more outdoor space, and I'm still getting used to life in the country (a walk around the block is a lot longer here!).

What a lovely idea and just 24 hours to have a go before the Christmas trees are packed away for another year. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing this fun, festive, and easy-to-create appetizer. I also love the flexibility of including different kinds of fillings … and am betting that your tree disappeared quickly!
