I always loved going Trick or Treating as a kid – well, as long as I could get away with it, to be honest! My reasons for loving it were pretty much the same as the average kid: 1) It’s SUPER fun to dress up and go out in public! (We don’t do that enough as adults!) 2) CANDY. I get it. That’s what Halloween is about! So…. why am I suggesting that some of us skip the bags of candy this year & go with something a little different? Because the kids already get SO MUCH candy – and they all love other little treats! Do you remember how exciting it was to go pick out a little $0.25 toy from the Dentist’s treasure box?
This year, I picked up a couple bags of eyeball erasers from Target (on sale, of course!) – $2.80 for a 60 pack. Not bad! Head on over to Save.ca for my other non-candy treat suggestions – and, I’m curious – where do you stand on the non-candy treat issue? Do you think I’m WAY too grown up, or would you stand beside me with this?

Genius. My parents are pretty popular in their neighbourhood for doing cool stuff like this.
Awesome idea!!!
I don’t have kids so shouldn’t be allowed to weigh in on a subject like this, but since it’s the internet everyone tells their opinion! 😉 Those are adorable and would be great for kids with allergies who are used to not always getting all the candy in their loot… but candy is part of the awesome excitement of Halloween. 🙂
