The Inspirational Women of Netflix #streamteam

As women, we have a lot of places to look for inspiration. Our mothers, grandmothers, daughters, and great women in history. This month, Netflix is featuring a number of shows with strong female leads.  Whether it is the young Queen Elizabeth of The Crown, as she leads a country through troubling times, or the three generations of Gilmore girls, who are strong, opinionated, and self-sufficient!

These, along with other shows, can be a great source of personal reflection. What would you say to your younger self? Would you go back and do things differently? I would remind myself to slow down and enjoy every part of life. To treasure the small moments and not be impatient for the next phase of life – it comes fast enough!

And speaking of fast enough, can we talk about Lorelai and Rory Gilmore for a moment?!  Those girls can TALK! The dialogue is so quick and witty in the series. I remember hearing that a normal hour-long TV show has a script of X number of pages, but an episode of Gilmore Girls has almost twice the number of pages due to the fast talking! I love how in the series, it always comes back to family. No matter what happens, or who comes along, your family is most important to you.

I live in Bowmanville, and am a mom to four young boys - it can get a little loud in my house. I am a Christian, a part-time French teacher, a piano teacher and former homeschooler. I love finding the best deals, which will come in handy when our boys become hungry teenagers! We just moved to a house with more outdoor space, and I'm still getting used to life in the country (a walk around the block is a lot longer here!).
